Life
Life is everything that happens from birth to death. Each one is unique and a gift from our Creator. Each one has the potential to bring glory to God by the transforming power of Christ or to remain entrenched in our sinful nature. There are many obstacles along the way that work to derail our purpose. Doing life well is hard. As a local body of Christ, we are here to equip each other to continue to strive towards the prize for which Christ Jesus has called us heavenward. That means sharing in joy, sorrow, discipline, discipleship, and growth with continual Hope towards Christ’s return. (John 1:4)
Hope
The Gospel is the ultimate source in a world that cries for hope. We are called to be that city on a hill that shines the light of Christ into a desperate world. Our sin paints a destitute picture that only Christ’s death and resurrection can change. As each of us deepens our relationship with Christ, we shine that hope into our marriages, families, relationships, communities and our world as we proclaim the name of Jesus. (1 Peter 1:3)
Grace
Grace is central in the Gospel. Grace is being given something we do not deserve. At CBC, we seek to live by the Gospel of grace in two ways. First, we enter into relationship with God by His abundant grace, through faith in Jesus. The result of God’s grace is the forgiveness we all need (Eph. 2:8). Secondly, since we have been given God’s grace, we strive to live by, and extend that same grace in our relationships with each other. Grace is the call of God’s church as we extend His grace to all people, both in and outside the church. (Eph. 5:1-2)
